Books to be re-named

It’s official! My series of stories about Crystal Dreams and her adventures through time and space will be re-titled.

The trilogy will be immediately re-named ‘Angel of the Dawn – ‘ with the particular volume title following.

So rather than ‘Crystal Dreams and the Golden Mirror’, it will be ‘Angel of the Dawn – The Golden Mirror’ and so on.

‘Angel of the Dawn’ is the title of one of the songs on the first CD, and also a name given to a legendary woman of old who Crystal becomes when she visits the 1400′s in the second book. As I am hopeful about this series reaching the big screen, ‘Angel of the Dawn’ makes a much better movie title than ‘Crystal Dreams’.

I have also begun work on a special hard-cover edition of the entire trilogy in one volume. It will include extra artwork and an appendix with maps and other elements from the land of the 1400′s that the stories are played out in.

The third book in the Crystal Dreams trilogy is now complete and available

‘Crystal Dreams and the Ring of Memories’ has just hit the shelves! This is the third and final volume of novels in the Crystal Dreams series.

The current titles are as follows:

• Book one “Crystal Dreams and the Golden Mirror”
• Book two “Crystal Dreams and the Iron Key”
• Book three “Crystal Dreams and the Ring of Memories”

I’m toying with the idea of re-naming these books. Although the main character’s name is ‘Crystal Dreams’, it doesn’t really do well in the title as an explanation of the series.

I was thinking about ‘Angel of the Dawn’ as the main title, with the subtitles following, such as ‘The Golden Mirror’, etc.

There are music CD’s being produced that go along with these books, as the main character, Crystal, sings in a rock band in the stories. The band is known as ‘GODI’, and I could also shorten the CD titles to simply “The Golden Mirror”, etc., eliminating the ‘Crystal Dreams and . . . ‘ from the start of each title.

Again, I think the term ‘Crystal Dreams’ may be confusing to some, as it makes one think of lucid dreaming or other aspects of dreams. In my case, it is simply the name of the main character. She is referred to as the Angel of the Dawn in the second book, so I think this might be a better title.

Any comments on changing the titles?

We’ve been hard at work in the studio, doing some re-working to many of the songs on the first CD, and also beginning work on the second one.

Since the creation of the Callister Choral Ensemble, it seemed to make sense to re-visit the first CD and add choral passages in places where it seemed appropriate to do so. At the same time, we are tightening up the mix, re-performing some of the parts, and generally making the CD sound a whole lot better.

The second CD has more carefully arranged orchestral parts, the use of the Callister Choral ensemble throughout, and a generally harder-edged rock sound than the first CD.
